some music news..

a lot is happening now, a lot of new music from some of my favorite acts.

Kate Bush has a new single out. it's pretty good - or at least it's not as bad as 'the red shoes' - her last album from.. 11 years ago. I disliked that last album enormously - I listened to that album again, a month ago - I still didn't like it.. the new album will be out next month - I'll probably buy it.

Sigur ros's new album is pretty good too. I'm listening to it while typing this.

Mike oldfield continues to disappoint his fans (or at least THIS fan). I've DLed a promo version of his new album - it doesn't have the word "bell" - but it does have the word "light" in the title. The promo had three tracks on it - all of them bland and boring (the guitar work is good though, typical oldfield). I don't think I'll even DL the finished album, let alone- buy it. This really disappoints me as he basically made my favorite album of all time - it actually annoys me that the guy who made Amarok - a work of sheer genius - is putting out crappy albums year after year - I'd rather he do a kate bush or Peter Gabriel - and make an album every 10 years or so - even if they are crappy ones - that way people are likely to remember the really good stuff.
